Coins resemble planets because they are round. Or, perhaps, the world resembles a coin, half submerged in sand. There is the day-side of the planet and the night-side of the planet. Perhaps there is a thematic relationship between coins and the duality of day and night. We enjoy at night what we earn by day? Perhaps money is dual because there is a giver and a taker for it to work.
